The Challenge
For Dipl. Ing. Fust AG, a large national retailer, protecting its logistics and stores with better cybersecurity technologies and processes was critical. Recent attacks within the broader retail industry had highlighted the immediate need to evaluate its own protection measures, identify risks and address any existing deficiencies.
How we solved it
When dealing with complicated systems and processes, having a dedicated CISO (Chief Information Security Officer) can drastically streamline the efforts.
Within less than a month, the Arco IT CISO performed a full security assessment aligned with the CIS Controls, using interviews with the IT staff and analysis of the technology. Working together with the IT team and the CIO, we jointly formulated and optimized a set of immediate actions to implement, as well as prepared a 3-year roadmap.
After the CISO worked with the CIO to receive executive board support, we launched the technical and procedural improvements, coordinating the work across multiple partners and supporting the client with specialist expertise.
RESULTS:
- Implementation of most critical improvements within a month
- A roadmap to guide the security improvements over a 3-year period
- Board approval secured to fund and staff longer-term actions
