The Center for Internet Security (CIS) version 8 controls are a recommended set of recommended actions for cyber defense that provide specific and actionable ways to safeguard public and private organizations against cyber threats.
This version of CIS controls launched in May of 2021 has been aptly adapted to suit the current atmosphere of IT security. Recent discrepancies such as the imminent migration to Cloud offerings, and remote office-working environments have played a big role in the shaping the adjustments that have been made.
Although CIS controls’ implementation groups and service definitions have remained stable, modifications such as the new task-based focus, the simplification of safeguards, and other updates to cover missing areas, are important to be noted.
Arco IT use CIS v.8 controls to assess an organization’s IT security posture, compare the current situation with the risk levels, and provide recommendations to ultimately address the identified gaps.
